Cobb County History
The Cobb County Association of Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows was organized on
March 28, 1980. The first President Sister Eleanor Collins was elected.
On June 26, 1980, in Secaucus New Jersey, the fourth national president of The National
Association of ministers’ Wives, now known as The International Association of Ministers’
Wives and Ministers’ Widows (IAMWMW), bestowed upon The Cobb County
Interdenominational Ministers’ Wives- Georgia, now known as The Cobb County
Association of Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows Interdenominational, their charter.
The Cobb County Chapter meets on the Saturday before the second Sunday from 11:00am-
1:00pm at Galilee Baptist Church 2050 Bentley Lake Rd Marietta, GA 30062, in person.
The Cobb County Association continues to be visible and accessible to the Cobb
Community, through support of families in need, Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets, free
clothing give away, visiting nursing homes, financial support to non- profit organizations
and community activities.
Since its inception The Cobb County Association has continued its constant growth in the
community with agendas designed for service, and to build a relationship with other
ministers’ wives. to spread the gospel and uplift the kingdom of God.
